Provenance: Private collection Surgeon-General Dr. Josef Mayer-Riefenthaler, Vienna, Austria. Acquired in Cyprus in the 1960s, during his deployment as UN soldier.
Condition: Some small color flakings on the handle, but completely intact.
Description: Wonderfully preserved medium size amphora of the so-called "Bichrome IV-Ware" with black and red-brown concentric circles around the body. On the shoulder in total four exquisitely painted lotus blossoms and geometric patterns in the same colors. On the cylindrical neck concentric circles and wavy lines. Foot and handle also decorated.
