Condition: Nose slightly worn, otherwise perfectly preserved.
Description: Wonderfully preserved limestone head. The young man with round, full face wears a laurel wreath. This indicates that he is of aristocratic origin. The nose is broad, the mouth small with full lips. Fringes are under the wreath (see a similar head in the Metropolitan Museum in New York, 74 51 2806). Hair is parted in the middle and falls wavily in the neck. On the back an old collection label with a French inscription: „Caesar ou Alexandre trouvé a Chypre en 1882“, dated 28 September 1894.
