Condition: Spout reattached without any missing parts, colour in some places faded, otherwise beautifully preserved.
Description: Epichysis with a beak-shaped spout and a high handle which rises steeply above the mouth and descends vertically with a sharp bend and finally attaches to the ovoid body. On the handle on both sides lion head applications. The entire jug is black glazed, except for one small spot on the ring foot, and painted with white and yellow colours. The egg-dart pattern on the neck and at the bottom as the finale of the corpus is incised into the clay. The rest of the decoration consists of white and red bands, as well as of a row of volutes. In the middle of the body in the center a rosette, from where left and right branches with red and white olive leaves radiate. See for the typus Christie’s auction London on 25 October 2012, lot 253.
