Description: Bronze statuette of a boar worked out in high quality, found in southern Britannia. The boar is depicted standing, its massive body rests on four slender legs with worked out hooves. The head is slightly tilted to the right. Whiskers, nostrils, the vigilant, protruding eyes and the raised ears are worked out in detail. On its back the thick backcomb curves to the centre of the head. At the back a rolled up stubby tail protrudes. The entire statuette is meticulously decorated in cold work. The boar is hollow inside and was soldered on a furniture or a vessel, where it possibly was used as a handle.
