Description: Elegantly, black glazed vessel with white, yellow and red paint, where previous liquids, such as oils and fragrances were stored. The low body of the epichysis, which stands on a flat base, reminds of a pyxis with a high, thin neck protruding from the centre. The neck merges into a beak-formed spout, left and right of the beak sculptural human heads are pressed into the clay. The handle starts in the back, rises high above the spout, turns into a semi-circular curve and ends at the shoulder. The paint depicts on the outside of the body meander and lines, on the shoulder egg dart motive, a white circle flanked by encircling foliage, and finally tongues on the neck. See for the type the epichysis in the Princeton University Art Museum with the object number y1929-202.
