Condition: Unrestored, with dents on the bangle, which is minimally distorted.
Description: Magnificent, hollow worked out gold bracelet with sculptural lion heads at the ends, which dates to the Roman period of Egypt. The hoop with a smooth surface and a triangular cross-section is semi-circularly curved outwards on the inside. The lion heads with volute collars, chiselled manes, deep-set, vigilant eyes and a long nose. There is a hinge hanging on each mouth, which can be opened on one side with a pin to be pulled out. A round medallion with an amethyst cabochon set in the centre is suspended in the hinges. The medallion is decorated with granules around the gemstone. The extraordinary bracelet is completely preserved and wearable.
