Provenance: From the well-known Swiss antiquities collection of Hans Erlenmeyer (1900-1967). Auctioned off at Sotheby’s London on 9 July 1990, lot 39. Thence Italian private collection. Again auctioned off at Pandolfini on 27 October 2009, lot 237. With Italian export document!
Condition: Intact except for some stress cracks on the back.
Description: Stylized idol in form of a sitting figure. The head with deeply punched eyes and a high volute. The extremely long arms are twisted outwardly and resting on the lap. Neck and body are elongated. The figure sits on a conical chair, which is open at the bottom. Lines- and dots decoration in dark brown color on the entire body. Concentric circles in the same color around the chair. In this form extremely rare!
