Description: Rare depiction of the Celtic god Tarvos Trigaranus in form of a triple horned bull. The animal with a circular tail twisted to the front and a raised right forepaw. Eyes and forelocks are engraved. There is hardly anything known about the Celtic bull-god today, he possibly was a companion or a symbol of the Celtic god Esus, who stood for trade and roads. There is an almost identical statuette exhibited in the Museum Carnuntinum in Bad Deutsch-Altenburg, Austria, with the inventory number 21339. Mounted.
