The coin inscription reads: ANTON(IUS) AUG(URUS) IMP(ERATOR) III(TERTIUM) COS (Consul) DES(IGNATUS) III(TERTIUM) III(TRIUMVIRI) R(EI) P(UBLICÆ) C(ONSTTITUANDÆ). The coin not only mentions Marcus Antonius, but also his title as augur, his title as consul, which he held for the third time, and his role as a member of the triumvirate to restore the Republic. On the revers is the two-line inscription in a bead circle ANTONIUS AUG(URUS) IMP(ERATOR) III(TERTIUM). Excellent portrait of Marcus Antonius, portraying him determined and powerful. It comes from the time just before the final showdown with Octavian when both gathered their troops in Greece for the decisive battle.
