Description: Large and massive wood fragment of a wooden coffin dating to the Middle Kingdom. In the centre a finely painted hieroglyphic inscription mentioning the name of the owner Seni and an offering phrase. The hieroglyphs in blue with black frames and between two black lines. On each side as the border a so-called colour leader in white, red and blue. The translation of the inscription reads: “A funerary offering to the major god for the justified one, for Seni.” Several wood tenons are still preserved in the massive wood block, which affixed the sarcophagus parts.
