Condition: A professionally restored, hardly visible break, otherwise of charming quality.
Description: Faience amulet of the goddess depicted as a lion. Sekhmet means the “the powerful”, she was the war goddess, but also protecting against illnesses and for healing. The lion head is worked out into the smallest detail, the female body of grace and beauty. Sekhmet wears the tri-partite wig framing the lion head as well as a long, sheer looking dress. The slender arms hanging sideways. On her head a pierced attachment for suspension. On the back a vertical bar with engraved hieroglyphs with the traditional dedication “Words spoken by Sekhmet”.
