Description: Red-figured drinking cup (skyphos) with details in white and yellow attributed to a workshop in Cumae, possibly to the CA Painter. The semi-circular, towards the bottom very tapering vessel stands on a slightly set off foot ring, which is painted with black concentric circles. The corpus depicts on the obverse a woman seated on an elegant white chair, presenting in her left hand an abundantly decorated phiale. She has only a cape wrapped around her waist, otherwise she is without clothes. Around the neck and shoulders a long pearl necklace, she holds another one in her right hand. Her wrists are adorned with two bracelets each. She wears a high towering diadem on her head over a cap, at the back a hair bun protrudes. The scene is framed on top and at the bottom by black wavy bands. Below the horizontal handle large-scale palmettes are painted. The reverse depicts a young man covered with a wide himation. He also wears a hair wreath. In front of him a seedling, in the image area above him a rosette, as well as a braided necklace with pearls, which hangs from a board. Here too, the image area is framed at the top and bottom by an encircling black wavy band.
