Condition: Unrestored. Some wear on the nose, chin and the left part of the lower lip. Otherwise, intact with beautiful patina.
Description: Almost life-sized head of Venus of fine crystalline marble. The goddess has her hair parted in the middle and pulled back in thick, wavy strands to a bun. On the calotte a small hole, where once a diadem of another metal (gold?) was affixed. Her mouths is slightly open to a smile, the eyes gently looking out from thick lids. Part of the ear protrudes from under the hair strands on both sides, the earlobes are pierced and once possibly adorned with jewelry. Mounted.
