Description: Exceptionally finely, naturalistically worked button-type scarab of light green faience, once serving as mummy amulet. Its head and front limbs with numerous details, the carapace ribbed. The underside also naturalistically worked out with pulled legs. In the center of the slightly bent body a loop, ribbed on the outside, for suspension on the mummy bandage. For a very similar example of this rare type see CNG auction 91, lot 1749. Mounted.
