Description: Finely worked, life-size private portrait of a young man whose hairstyle still is in the tradition of Emperor Trajan’s. His hair combed in streaks forward and sideways down framing the elongated face. The eyes large and vigilant, the brows bushy. This head is following the imperial portraits of the period and is intended to characterize the depicted person as a promising man with determination designated for the cursus honorum. Mounted.
