Condition: An old restoration on one side of the body, otherwise very beautifully preserved.
Description: Published stirrup jar of the Lambayeque culture, which today increasingly is known as Sicán culture. The vessel stands on a flat base. The biconical body is slightly swaged, the shoulder flat and decorated with encircling red brown circles. In the upper part sits a high reaching stirrup, on its arms two applied frogs facing to the spout. The spout itself broadens towards the rim, handle, frog appliques and spout are also painted in red brown. Published in: Josef Mairitsch “Columbus am Wörthersee.
